17-year-old Lila has two secrets she’s prepared to take to the grave. The first is that she can move things just by looking at them. The second is that she’s been in love with her brother’s best friend, Alex, since forever.

After a mugging exposes her unique ability, Lila decides to run to the only people she can trust—her brother and Alex. They live in Southern California where they work for a secret organisation called The Unit, and Lila discovers that the two of them are hunting down the men who murdered her mother five years before. And that they’ve found them.

In a world where nothing and no one is quite as they seem, Lila quickly realises that she is not alone—there are others out there just like her—people with special powers—and her mother’s killer is one of them…

A Thrilling Blend of
Intrigue, Romance, Paranormal and Heart-racing Action!

I don't know why I waited so long to read Hunting Lila. I guess I just wanted to purchase it once it was available in Canada but truth be told, I really regret not purchasing the book before (online) once it just came out. Although the good thing about reading it so many months after its release date, is that now I only have to wait two weeks to read Losing Lila, the thrilling and toe curling sequel to Lila #1!! Yes! Which, obviously, I pre-ordered as soon as I flipped the last page!

From page 1, I was like... holy cow! Sarah Alderson goes straight to the point and and gave me a taste of who Lila was and what she can do. Two pages later, Lila was on a plane from London to LA to visit her brother Jack, who she hasn't seen in three years, and his best friend Alex, the boy Lila has loved since she was 5-year-old and who she hasn't seen during the last three years too. From the moment Lila steps on the US, the story takes off and it doesn't stop, ever, until the very last page.

Sarah Alderson delivers and incredible thrilling and action packed adventure where secret organizations, murder, revenge and a delicious romance intertwine to create one of the most enthralling novels I have read this year! However, and even though I really loved this novel, I did get tired of Lila gushing so much over Alex. Yes, he is absolutely swoon-worthy, but I got the impression that Lila was more obsessed with Alex rather than in love with him. But that's just me, and maybe other readers will actually enjoy that.

Hunting Lila is an exquisite blend of paranormal, intrigue, romance and tones of kick-ass action that will make you pull your hair out, bite your nails, scratch the walls, stop your heart and curl your toes! Needlessly to mention the highly surprising twists that Alderson so brilliantly executed in the first installment of the Lila series. And did I mention that this is actually her debut novel? My God, Sarah Alderson is absolutely fantastic! Now, what are you waiting to read this book?

This seems SO incredible, judging from your review (which was absolutely fabulous, by the way) O_O Haha, yes, I understand that feeling...gee, I wish I read CP1 a week before CP2 comes out. I really like the sound this one, though, if it really does start rolling from the first page and doesn't stop >_< an awesome rollercoaster!!! Ah wait- maybe I'll wait a bit more, since reading all those Cassie books have left me with no nails whatsoever T__T Anyhow, thanks for sharing this wonderful review with us, oneechan <3

I totally understand about the nails thing >_< I just added thre coats of nail polish to see if I can make it last longer and avoid biting them while reading so many awesome books XDDD
And Good Lord, Cassie Clare is an expert to make reader bite they nails to the point of bleeding XDDD
But you should totally read this one (as soon as your nails grow a little!) You'll love it! ^__^ muah!

I have to move this book up my TBR list! It sounds so good :) I know a lot of people are tired of paranormal but I'm still an enormous fan of it. Thanks for the review.

P.E: This one is totally different than the other paranormal. This is more of an action packed, full of intrigue story with an x-men twist. Yes, think about x-men!! and not about twilight! =D

I didn't love the book as much as you did, but I did enjoy reading it and I'm looking forward to the sequel. I think what really bothered me in the book was Lila's obsession with Alex. Still, I loved the pace at which the book moved and the ending was full of surprises.
Love the review, Natalia ! So glad you loved it ! <3

Omg wasn't this awesome!? So happy you loved it, Natalia! Sarah can sure write a kick ass protag, huh!? I get what you mean about her being obsessed on Alex. I think it WAS a bit more obsession than love at this point though. I guess a life long crush can do that haha. Poor thing! >.< Love this review, muffin!!

@Nick: aaah, I guess many of us think the same way about the obsession thing, yet we dont really give a crap because the plot and all the rest is so freaking awesome that overpowers that little detail. :) Cant wait for Losing Lila! I pre-ordered as soon as I finish Hunting Lila last night and I was so super happy to know that is going to be release in only two more weeks!!! kyaa!!

Natalia, you sure do know how to get me excited to read a book! I haven't really felt a pressing need to read this one, but now I'm kinda reconsidering that! :)

AHhhhhh I still haven't read this yet Natalia! Why is that? Because I'm clearly challenged and enjoy missing out on awesome books. WTH? I've heard nothing but amazing things about this one, and I so love stories where the heroine has been in love with a boy forever and things finally start to move in a romantic direction. Complete win. MUST READ THIS SOON!

Beautiful review sweets <3 <3

OH MY GOSH!! This is one of my favourites of your reviews EVER, Natalia! (That might have a little to do with the fact that this is one of my favourite books, a lot with the fact that you rock LOL <3) I'm SO SO SO happy you loved this too -- I actually wasn't anywhere near as patient as you and bought it off The Book Depository instead of waiting for it to release in Canada LOL. Lila WAS a lot in love with Alex, but I think that's what made her crush infinitely cuter. ;)

Absolutely beautiful and brilliant review, Natalia! <3 Just a few more weeks until Losing Lila comes out! *cheers*

I'm so glad you enjoyed this, it's one of my favourite books I've read this yar and I can't WAIT for Losing Lila! And, YES!! Alex is 100% swoon-worthy.<3

Fantastic review, Natalia.(:

If your review itself shouldn't make me excited enough, this line certainly did: "Hunting Lila is an exquisite blend of paranormal, intrigue, romance and tones of kick-ass action that will make you pull your hair out, bite your nails, scratch the walls, stop your heart and curl your toes!"

I'm SO going to read this book! Thanks for the wonderful review <3
