Two days before the start of her junior year, seventeen-year-old Janelle Tenner is hit by a pickup truck and killed—as in blinding light, scenes of her life flashing before her, and then nothing. Except the next thing she knows, she's opening her eyes to find Ben Michaels, a loner from her high school whom Janelle has never talked to, leaning over her. And even though it isn't possible, she knows—with every fiber of her being—that Ben has somehow brought her back to life. But her revival, and Ben's possible role in it, is only the first of the puzzles that Janelle must solve. While snooping in her FBI agent father's files for clues about her accident, she uncovers a clock that seems to be counting down to something—but to what? And when someone close to Janelle is killed, she can no longer deny what's right in front of her: Everything that's happened—the accident, the murder, the countdown clock, Ben's sudden appearance in her life—points to the end of life as she knows it. And as the clock ticks down, she realizes that if she wants to put a stop to the end of the world, she's going to need to uncover Ben's secrets—and keep from falling in love with him in the process. From debut author Elizabeth Norris comes this shattering novel of one girl's fight to save herself, her world, and the boy she never saw coming.

Be Prepared for the Unexpected!

Unraveling's kick-butt cover grabbed immediately my attention, but the mention of the FBI on the book's premise was what actually really did it for me. As a fan of Agent Mulder and agent Scully myself, I HAD to add Unraveling to my priority list because I was pretty sure this book was going to bring something absolutely new and very addictive to my to-read pile. And Oh good Lord! I was not wrong!

Janelle has pretty much a normal life... sort of. She has a kick-butt FBI agent as a father very, a bi polar mother, a super hot sort-of boyfriend and a nice younger brother. But regardless what might seem cool and bad about her life, Janelle feels that she is not alive at all... until one day she dies after being hit by a truck and then, a boy from her school called Ben, brings her back to life. This is when the story picks up. However, this is just one small part of the plot Elizabeth Norris knitted for this invigorating story. Bioterrorism, FBI intervention and paranormal activity are also some of the few things on this book that will keep readers biting their nails until the moment they turn the last page. Elizabeth Norris really surprised me with a fresh and original story that I am longing to read more of! In addition, Unraveling puts under the spotlight very likable characters, and they all bright with their own personality. Janelle, Ben, Alex, Elijah and Barclay are part of Unraveling's cast that readers should definitely be looking forward to meet!

The are many concepts on this books that I am dying to talk about, but if I do, I will be spoiling the story and ruining the unexpected twist and turns of Unraveling's plot. What I can say about this book without spoiling it, is that readers should be prepared for many awesome jaw-dropping moments!

Unraveling will certainly be a welcomed addition to every YA lover's shelf. Norris debut novel is not only different and refreshing, but it contains a big dose of action, mystery and romance! And that's not all! Unraveling also has one of the most unexpected twist ever (in a very good way) and a heartbreaking ending that will bring more than a few sobs and tears. Unraveling is a highly engaging and unique story that readers should absolutely get as soon as it comes out! So don't wait any longer and go order it now!
